A tribute to: Amelia Earhart

With her leather jacket, scarf and close-cropped hair—Amelia Earhart became the first female aviator to fly a solo transatlantic flight, redefining expectations of women along the way. Till date, she still serves as a reminder of female fearlessness and that anything is possible.

Ever since Alexander Wang came out with his handbag line, the too-cool totes have been seen on celebs from Mary-Kate Olsen to Kristin Cavallari, blogged about to death, and coveted by yours truly. One of our favorites was the ‘Diego’ bag– a drawstring bucket bag that would have been simply and absolutely perfect with any outfit!

Drawstring bags always remind me of the purses my mother had in the 90s, so while their modern cousins have retro roots, they’re totally current and fashion-forward.
